Migraines Even Affect Professional Athletes

Migraines Even Affect Professional Athletes

Many people have heard of Troy Aikman and know that he is a popular former NFL quarterback. He had a successful career playing for the Dallas Cowboys helping them win three Super Bowls! However, he did not have as much success winning the battle against migraines off the field. In the video shown here, you can see his story and whether or not the medication Imitrex helped him.

Migraine medications do have a place in helping a person cope with the pain. However, they cannot prevent migraines from happening. They cover the symptoms until the pain subsides but never address the underlying issue. They also have many unwanted side effects.

There are lots of drugs out there to treat migraines produced by many different drug companies. Pharmaceutical companies are businesses made to bring in money. They advertise to the public to encourage them to buy their drug to help alleviate pain. But the question that needs to be asked is whether is it more beneficial to treat the pain when it happens or to prevent a migraine before it ever occurs. Most would agree that they would rather not deal with the pain at all. So, how can that be done?

Putting an End to Migraines in Renton

Many people are looking for a natural solution to their head pain rather than relying on drugs prescribed by doctors. Upper cervical chiropractic care is one area that is helping migraine sufferers find relief. We are not looking to get rich from helping a patient relieve migraine pain. But we are aiming to help as many people as we can. Treatment is only given when absolutely necessary and with no unnatural side effects.

Upper cervical chiropractors are trained to use special tools to see whether or not there is a misalignment in the upper neck. A misalignment here can be the root cause of migraines because it can exert pressure on the brainstem. If a misalignment is found, a treatment plan for each individual patient is made. Once this misalignment is corrected, a person may just find themselves migraine-free, using no medication at all!
